The Painted Boat Pool Building
The unique location of the site required the building to become a “retaining wall” to create the space for the swimming pool and hot-tub deck. The simple curving structure follows the natural terrain, and the low sloped gravel roof camouflages the structure from above. The exercise facilty opens up with large glass sliding doors, bringing the indoors and outdoors together. A natural cedar curving trellis screens the pools from the residential units, and landscaping is used to integrate the building, pools, and deck with the site.
