Project: Clark Residence
Building Size and Use: 2600sf. Single family residence
Location: Roberts Creek, B.C.
Date Completed: July 2008

The house is constructed on a site adjacent to a 60-year-old wooden cottage. The natural beauty of the site, with its large trees called for the house to reflect these materials. The undulating and articulated walls are designed to fit between the trees and maintain the sites pristine character. The open living area features a simple sloped ceiling with the structure exposed behind a curtain of glass. Wood is used in the ceilings as a element of shelter in spaces both high and low. The building exterior is enclosed with cedar wall shingles to blend into the natural setting and reduce the scale of the building mass.
