Stewart Residence
This waterfront home is built with a strong sense of volumes and planes. Timber posts and beams carry the large low sloped roof over the walls, while the carport consists of a large flat plane between the floors. The open plan living spaces are connected with a series of stepping roofs to a mezzanine overlooking the ocean. Wood is used extensively on the interior from the exposed fir stair to all of the millwork. The main floor contains the master bedroom and a private guest wing with its separate entrance. An outdoor patio provides an extension of the living areas out onto the beach.
